A Holistic Perspective on Transforming Nations

唐金宁 本人工作的机构在全球各地与许多不同性质的组织配搭合作,其中有学术界的、商业界的、民间团体、宗教性的组织、非政府组织,以及社群企业。我们装备在这些领域中工作的人,让他们在个人的范围里发挥影响力,以图可以改变社会,改变国家。 首先我们必须扪心自问,究竟要做些什么才能改变一个国家民族?答案是我们需要拟定一些整体的目标,以及达到这些目标的方法。我们也需要知道怎样彼此配合,来完成这个任务及目的。 有 哪方面的问题是必须要面对和解决的?首先譲我们探讨人们的世界观。所谓世界观就是人们用来看这个世界的眼镜,也就是说每一个人如何依据自己的信念来看这个 世界,来体会所有的见闻。我们要让大家有一个宽广宏范的世界观,其中不仅包括灵性方面,而更包含了具体生活中的每一部分。举例说,世界上绝大部分文化缊含 的如果不是万物皆灵的信仰,就是人文主义的信念。其实这是两个很极端和狭隘的看法。万物皆灵的观念相信凡事都有定命,我们对自己的生命是毫无掌控之力。而 人文主义则相信人是宇宙的主宰,只有人可以改变自己的生活和这个世界。 其次,如果想要制作一个既有持续性又可以反复生产的东西,必须先要有 一个制作的计划。当我们看一个国家,我们的工作必须建立在稳固的基础上,才能帮助那个国家兴旺成长 ,并持续有恒。记得以前在香港的时候常常经过原来是中环希尔顿敦酒店的地段,那时酒店刚被拆掉,原地上要盖更高的大楼。有好几个月只看到围栏围着一个巨大 的地坑。我公司的经理说,"在香港盖高楼,有一半的时间是花在建地底下、外表看不见的房地基,另外一半的时间才是建你我看得见的大楼。"这个理念让我感触 良多,不免自问:"我们有这样做吗?有花百分之五十的时间来探讨打算要工作国家的土壤,查考他们的文化?有尝试去认识这个国家和她的人民,为了要了解他们 的传统和价值观? 第三,要审查所采用的耕耘和开发的途径。我们要如何耕作这块地土,才能装备和帮助这个国家和她的人民?怎样才能帮助人们开 创一些企业,提供有生产力,并且有意义的工作机会?只有如此,我们才能帮助这些小区和国家奠定新的基础,继而影响他们的观念和信仰,重新建立一个宽广宏范 的世界观。 第四,我们必须用 "资源"的角度来看一个社区。假若用"需要"的角度,那这个社区就只会依赖外来的帮助。我们一定要提高个人和社区的尊严,肯定他们的自我价值。若能鼓励他们发掘自身拥有的资源,并加以发扬光大,这样就可以装备他们,并为地区带来突破。 第五,和前项有紧密关联的,就是务要用一个全面性的方式来面对贫穷这个问题。我们必须了解,贫穷不是因为缺乏资源,也不是衡量一个人拥有的东西有多少。贫穷是人与人关系的破裂。当我们用这种眼光去看,就明白如何藉愈合和重建来改变人与人彼此的关系。我们特别需要配合当地的企业家,鼓励和装备他们,在所在的社区内开发自身的资源和潜力。 最后,就是我们所做的一切,必须是以按个人与整体的关系为出发点,每一个人在他所属的群体里都有其个人的价值和多元化的贡献潜力。只有整个社区群体都加入这个改变的过程,积极参与,我们才会在这社区中的每一个阶层看到真正的改变! 唐金宁为Humanitarian International Services Group (HISG) 的救济及发展的国际董事, 主要服事于亚洲区和南美洲。他曾于欧洲居住及工作14年之, 其后于亚洲发展其出入口业务。
