As the people of Wuhan and its surrounding areas and other major cities in China are affected by the restrictions put in place to limit the spread of the coronavirus, the impact of isolation and fear is taking a toll.
There have been calls for prayer, local outreaches, and attempts by pastors and other believers to comfort and encourage those who are feeling the effects of the ongoing isolation. We would like to share two resources that can be passed on to those in restricted areas.
Online Professional Counseling
The Asia Christian Counseling Association (ACCA) has mobilized a volunteer pool of Chinese-speaking, Christian, professional counselors from across Asia to offer online counseling to the people in Wuhan. The video below introduces this service. If you are able to share this with others in the affected areas, please do.
Article on Coping with Extended Isolation, Chinese and English Versions
A friend of ChinaSource with experience and ongoing involvement in member care has written a short article offering suggestions for dealing positively with an extended time of restricted movement. It is available in both Chinese and English.
